Integrated response to the needs of vulnerable populations in the Hodh El Chargui region of Mauritania
The project intervenes in the Hodh El Chargui region, in the municipalities of Fassala and Adel Bagrou, to improve food and nutrition security conditions and access to essential health, protection and water services for the most vulnerable populations. The intervention responds to the needs of host communities, refugees, returnees and displaced people through an integrated approach that combines monetary assistance, support for livelihoods and agro-pastoral production, improved access to water and sanitation, health and nutrition assistance and capacity building of local communities and institutions. Particular attention is paid to women, children and people with disabilities, promoting resilience, inclusion and community participation.

General objective
To contribute to strengthening the resilience of the most vulnerable populations to the risk of increasing food insecurity and difficulties in accessing quality hygiene, health and nutrition services, through an integrated approach that promotes the active role of women in the Hodh El Chargui region.
Specific objective
To improve food and nutrition security conditions and access to health and protection services for refugees, returnees and host communities in the Moughataa of Bassikounou and Adel Bagrou.
